Those who have ego or the power of I never improve their all round personality.It is observed that today an average man always thinks he is above average.Ego is the greatest enemy of our development . When you operate from ego your
relationships will definitely be affected. The fact is 'I'in us. Usually people say I did this -I built this house - I am the officer - I wrote this book- such I's are always seen. Saint kanakadas said 'Remove I from you. 
Then you will get salvation.Ego brings sorrow. Your ego hurts other persons. Eliminate ego. We are all tools in the hands of god. Almighty is the ruler. Why should we do not have the attitude that all the works or things we do, 
it is God's work and we are doing it under his guidance and we are servants. We acquire property and wealth  we may have name also.With these we develop ego.But all these things will vanish some day.you can know here about the personality
They are not the yardsticks that develop our personality. We must not have ego. We must accept that whatever we have is the grace of god. Dropping the ego is easy when we realize that we are less than a dot in this vast cosmos' says Sukhabodhanandha.
We should never think that we are the center of the cosmos.Then dropping ego becomes difficult. There are many people who have become richer not for fulfilling the basic needs.Ego wanted them to be richer than others.
They wish to exhibit their richness a midst others. That'show people want to be different  All suffering have come through our ego or Ahamkara. If we have to develop, we must leave ego we should rather work no to feel better than others but to contribute to the society.
 Such persons reach towering heights. They become famous personalities . But what happened to ego personalities like Durodhana,Ravana and Bhasmasura! they died miserably. No body liked their qualities  A person with good character will not have ego.
An educated person should not be egoistic. In fact,education has for its object the formation of character.When we speak of personality,character takes the primary role.
Character building or character is an important factor that shape the personality. 
If money is lost nothing is lost.
If health is lost something is lost
If character is lost, everything is lost.
The great hope of society is individual character . Character is a by product;It is produced in the great manufacture of daily duty. Character is destiny. Those who have good character will retain the good reputation even for their act of kindness.

   Honesty,truthfulness, open mind,respect to women,presence of mind are some of the qualities. We find in a person with good character. Also a person with inquisitive character is always guided by the circumstances around him.
 He makes very less mistakes and he leaves nothing to chance.Failures do not suppress him.
Character helps for moral development. They youth of today are frustrated a lot. They are attracted towards the glamour of the modern life and they forget certain moral values.They become impatient and take hasty decisions .Lack of moral development is the main cause.
Social morals indicates how a person should behave in the society. It is culture. A society is safe only when all the person be have well  .Intellectuals are honored in the society.They have  more thinking power. All educated people are not intellectuals. 
But intellectuals are educated. they understand what they study. Knowledge gives richness to their personality. As Ruskin said education is not for knowing more but for behaving differently.
For intellectual development our experience should enhance our thinking power. Great thinkers have changed the life of many. Their thought provoking ideas have enabled many people.
