Self assessment helps on to survive. Six questions are given below. There are three answers to each question. The questions are about you only. You give grades A-B-C according to the answer you choose. If you score more A's you are suffering from negative thinking. If you score more
A's you . If you score C's you are a positive thinker. This is a sort of self assessment.

Self assessment enables to improve your personality. A student writes in the examination hall and at the end he will go through how he has written. He may assess the performance. He will come to know how much marks he can score -
If he has answered 6 to 7 papers he will come to know how much percentage he is going to get in the examination. If it is a good assessment the result would be almost according to him.When he gets his marks card he will compare.
There may be one or two marks low or one or two marks higher side.Assessment may be correct also. Sometimes they tally. Thus one can assess one's strong and weak points. Others may magnify one's good points and praise him. They may not
speak of his deficiencies. In that case though self assessment is a tough job it helps one to further progress.
Something people boast and speak of themselves. Telling that they have achieved many things, they have won several accolades and all that. This is a natural tendency also .But this will not help in their personality development .
Assessment is only to check how far he has come up and how much effort he has to put in future.
Tips to be followed are as below:
1.Write a list of areas that need your attention and later correction.
Eg. -1)Punctuality
-2)Raise to the occasion
-3)Task performance
-4) Prepare communication
-5)Planing
-6)Initiative (Drive)
-7)Decision making
-8)Tenacity ie. does not run away from tacking problem.
-9)Effort towards development
To cite an example, I can tell about an Executive Engineer. Let me speak about tenacity. Mr.R was working in a Generating station. He was coming late to power house.Sometimes he was not coming at all. If he were to be in power station,
if any generating unit due to some problem stared giving trouble, he used to run away from there and was asking over phone what happened. This should not be the case.
2.Compliments from not one or two but from many definitely a good symptom. This helps in self assessment.
3.Generally people do not comment one's deficient such as -He is lethargic. He is a late comer. He has to be trained. But there are people who comment. Such comments do not appeal.
4. Favorable remarks cover only certain aspects and not all: Therefore one cannot rely upon such remarks. Once has to estimate plus and minus points.
5.List out favorable traits in accordance with the listed items under(1)
6.Prepare a balanced picture out of(1) and (5)
7.Focus attention continuously for a week one each item and analyze the activities.in improving performance Few people draw out a plan and implement it successfully.
Criticism will be there always. Welcome criticism. If the criticism is always adverse check. Finally a person has to assess what he really is. By self assessment he will have satisfaction.A singer can record his songs, hear and correct himself.An actor can witness his acting and correct in future.
What you think of yourself and what others think about you helps assessment. These will help in developing your personality.
